In Phase 1 Assemble the Team, Nick's team was already together. They made up Nick's Individualized Education Plan or IEP team. At an annual meeting to review Nick's IEP progress, Nick's parents shared concerns and wanted ideas to help them get Nick out and about more with the family. Nick is partially paralyzed. He has balance difficulties and limited use of his left leg, arm and hand. Nick's hearing and vision also are impaired on his left side. Nick's team decides to make going into the community a priority and selects Nick's Mom as team leader. Their first move is to review Nick's current schedule and see where he might participate more actively in family outings. They proceeded on to Phase 2 - Review Current Settings and Activities Favorable to Travel.
