Phase 10 Simulation

PHASE 10 SIMULATION - KRYSTAL
NOTE: No images of persons with disabilities appear in these simulations.

In the course of Phase 9 - Develop a Travel Plan, the team put together what Krystal would do while she was at the hospital for her work experience. They identified five learning objectives and decided to measure progress on the one that involved the job task.

Activity Objectives:

1. Bear weight during transfers from wheelchair into taxi cabs.

2. Wheel through doorways at school and hospital.

3. Wheel onto and off of elevator at hospital.

4. Wheel back and forth between work table and IV boxes in Central Supply*

5. Wheel to food area, cashier, table and trash in the cafeteria.

(*take data on this objective)

In Phase 10 - Implement the Travel Plan and Assess Progress, the team decided to start Krystal’s work program at the beginning of the second semester. They developed a simple data sheet and planned to complete it every other Wednesday. Krystal would initiate wheeling 12 times. She would get three IV boxes in a row (1st 6 trials), assist with removing the IV bags from each box, have a short rest period, get three more IV boxes in a row (2nd 6 trials), and assist removing those IV bags. After work materials were put away, she would then proceed on to the cafeteria.
