PHASE 1 - ASSEMBLE THE TEAM
Finding answers to travel and movement related questions is best done by a team. Since issues surrounding mobility are often complicated, each member of the team, including family members who know the individual best, has expertise and advice to share that will ensure student or consumer success. The number of team members will vary depending on the needs and preferences of the person and family. It is in the best interest of both the team and the individual who is deafblind, if all members feel a sense of ownership in the decision-making process. Teams that respect each member's unique contribution and seek to build consensus for the decisions made, are said to be collaborative.
